No perl or Mysql is required to use this, in fact you must not have mysql running when running this repack. I have tested this version of the repack on 3 pc's and they all worked so I hope this goes smooth for everyone else.

*Versions
• view the 03-18-10 -=Changelog=-

*Requirements
• .net frame work 2.0
• Maps from Angelo’s main page to put in your server folder Download Maps Here
• Mysql not running
• Titanium client
• That’s all I can think of

Almost everything is straight forward here, run the axclassic.exe and it will install it and place a shortcut on your desktop. Click the shortcut and it will bring up the server interface
This guide assumes your running client and server on same PC @ 127.0.0.1 now to adapt this to public is also very simple but I’ll save that for another time. I have included all the tools needed to use your minilogin as a public gateway for your friends and family.

Installation Guide

1. Install the axclassic
2. Click the shortcut that was created by the install
3. Start the mysql server. Wait a few seconds for it to load.
4. Now start your eqemu server, may take upto 5 minutes to load.
5. You can hide the console window with the GUI and then minimize the GUI to keep your desktop clean.
6. That should be it for basic setup.

Public play

1. click Lan then lan settings from the drop down toolbar
2. enter your myserver.com (or external IP - can get this from http://www.ipchicken.com/) in both lines.
3. put the name of your server in the 3rd line(login is picky on the name)
4. click save
5. now make your eqhost.txt file match step 2, or click the eqhost.txt button.
6. login and have fun

How to update from an old version to a new one....
This process is really quite simply,
1. Launch the GUI for the server and click on the backup tool.
2. now back up the Login Tables and the player tables in the backup tool options.
3. now you’re going to uninstall the current version that you have
4. When it gets to the end of the uninstall process it will ask if you want to delete extra files since install do not click yes, click next so this will leave all your maps where they are and your save files.
5. Install the new one, once done there launch the GUI and click on backup tool. Find the player tables section and restore from the list it gives you.
6. its going to ask for time stamp of the file this just want the number. it will list this "ax_classic_accounts_1226295177.sql" you just need to type this 1226295177 and your done.
7. i think that is it for now

conversion process, from old minilogin to the new minilogin Easy but must be done in the right order

If you have saved accounts from any previous repacks please follow these few steps,
1. once the new repack is installed, you will need to import your saved data with the dbtools menu.
2. once everything is safely imported and you see the complete msg, You will then need to convert them to use the new login server. This will be option 1 then 3 in the dbtools menu.

When backing up accounts from this point forward you will need to backup both the login and the accounts, these New options are in the DBtools, the menus have changed so please have a look.

I need to Thank Angelox Again for making the conversion script, testing, database, the list goes on :) and everything else he does for us here .... THANK YOU!!!!

A few notes to bring up here…..
When you “close” the server interface not “minimize” it, It will shut down your server, the reason for this is …… if your console windows are in hide mode and you close the interface, you most likely will forget that it is running and when you go to start your server the next time you will get errors all over the place lol.
I hope this clears up some questions, and hope you all enjoy Angelos’ hard work as much as My family and I have. Once a again a great BIG THANK YOU to Angelo and his ongoing work for us, He provides hours and hours of entertainment without asking anything for it in return.

If i have forgot any part of this please feel free to correct me, My readme writing skills are about as bad as they get

Some additional FAQ
1.
Q How do I set access levels (i.e. player/admin)?
A See this Post -=here=-

2. adding more as I get time

ok Guys make sure to update your old version before making the Final backup to import to the new repack. I included the SVN folder in the root directory, so you will need import anything after the revision you are using , by looking at the previous version in the changlog will help to determine what you need to run.

the gui 2.0.5 is screwing installs up on vista wont let me connect to either databases say cant conf xml file will try to garther more info and post back but try a reinstall with an older version of repack hoping to get one working on other pc ....... "edit ed and add ed on" for those who are having troubles installing on vista and continuely get the error message xml. cannot create do u want to continue pressing continue wont help instead right click on the desktop short look for properties click it in that menu there will be a compatiablility tab click it set it to windows xp 2nd service pack and hit apply next that same desktop short right click again and open file from location on youe eqemugui right click set comp like you did for shortcut and also security now set this program to the fullest access allowed this should take care of this set of problems only full blow secuirty running vista users should have to do this

I would be lookiing at my hardware - you may have something like a hard disk going bad; HD is the most common item to fail, and even more common on a Laptop. You might be thinking "It only happens with EQrmu", but that could be because it's so "resource intense": you're running a server, client, Mysql, Perl, and who knows what else ...
Look at the requirements for the client alone: if you run with the new character models, that alone needs 512k of your Ram. Your server probably needs another 1-3g pending the zones you have mounted. all the other applications need memory too. Just youre OS alone, if XP requires 256k ram, and Vista (the resource hog), wants 512.
To run all this comfortably on one machine, you probably need at least 2gig of Ram (3 gig would be better). Laptops are usually built as cheap as possible so they can stick it to you with the price and make a lot of money ( I guess so is everything else, for that matter). Only recently am I starting to see Laptops with reasonable amounts of Ram (they used to come with 256 -512 k ram, which is not enough even for the EQ client alone). Then there's the hard disks; Laptop hard disks are generally slower than regular PCs. just speaking RPM wise, all my PCs have at least 7800 RPM, I have 5 laptops here (people bring for me to fix, I tell them I don't fix laptops but they bring anyways) the fastest one is my wifes (that one works), 5200, rest are 4800 and under. In general, Laptop HD are inferior to PC HD, and last much less time than a regular PC HD. Id say a heavily used laptop HD has a life span of around 1-2 years, and regular PC 5+ years.
So what happens when you run EQEmu, client, server, windows (probably vista), MySql, and all the rest, on a PC which is short of Ram?
The OS (Windows), begins to constantly swap applications to HD, it replaces needed memory with HD space. HD is much slower access rate, things get slow, and your HD starts to really get pounded. The easiest test is just looking at your HD light : If its always on, then this is always being used. All this overworking the HD, is slow, inefficient, exhausting, and will be prone to error. If your HD is starting to go bad, or you have some faulty memory, your EqEmu repack will be the first to know.

iceis2 I would think C++ would be a good start, but every professor runs his or her classes differently. Java may not be a bad way to start off either. These are just my opinions I could be wrong, or there might be a better way to get your feet wet in the programming world.

Iceis i know a bit of Pearl and java, not a lot, i could not make my own stuff, but i have a basic understanding of it. I just did a headfirst dive into C++. Its a very high learning curve, but so far i am not regretting it, i like the challenge of it. Give it a shot. Go to a book store and pick up the teach yourself books. I picked up 3 and so far so good.

Do not confuse C# and C++ go with C++.. that C# crap is winblows.

run this query to get that back in

Code:
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `peq_admin`;

CREATE TABLE peq_admin (
id INT(11) auto_increment primary key,
login varchar(30) NOT NULL,
password varchar(255) NOT NULL,
administrator INT(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0'
);
INSERT INTO peq_admin VALUES(1, 'admin', '5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99', 1);
