Reinstalled eq and all stuff. Put sof files in which include spells us file. Had same problem described before. Cannot cast spell while not in combat message. Couldn't cast in combat either. Attack was fine. Replaced that file with the default spells us file that installs with sof (15k lines where your have 9.9k or so). I can cast fine!

Havnt tested bots casting but all worked before for me using the default sof spells us. I'll test that later today if I can.

Yep, bots work fine too. Seems there is an issue with th spells us file that comes in the sof files and alone. The default spells us file that sof installed works fine.

What is the purpose of the one that comes from here?

I had the same problem with a fresh install of SoF and installation of the files from the forum/wiki. Replacing the spells_us.txt for the client from the wiki into the client SoF directory resulted with the error you cited. Thankfully, I renamed the installed SoF spells_us.txt file. Reinstated it and have leveled to level 5 without further issues. Not gotten a bot, however.

Do we need to update wiki/forum? Will using the media installed SoF spell_us.txt potentially be an issue later?

BTW: Love AX Classic. I was dubious at first--wanted to use the SoD client, but it is growing on me. Awesome and thank you!
