I have taken down the Rather server today for hard disk replacement - This includes new OS installation and the whole works.
The old hard disk has been acting up, and don't want to wait for it to totally shut down (then I can't transfer data).
Should be finished by tomorrow.

True when they say "When it rains, it pours" - The machine that hosts Rathe crashed this morning, and this time for good (loosing the SATA ports must have been the beginning of the end of that motherboard).

I ordered another motherboard, had to do it as cheap as possible, so cheapest shipping is via 'banana boat' and will take about a week. Mean time, I moved the Rathe server to where SirensBane is hosted, and am running it from there. If you saw a rollback on your character, it was because the daily backup didn't have a chance to do its thing- that's the best I could do, so we can get things rolling again.

Hey Lox,
Sorry to hear about the MB troubles but yeah it's electronix. You basicly never know if it still runs the next day. Good news is that the HD you replaced is probebly a ok. Seccond good news is that the quality of today's banana boats have much improved so i am confident the new mobo be there quick :spinning:

I hope you get things back up and running real quick mate... GLuck!

Any chance of temporarily updating the ip address of the database to the temp machine? I tried db access and using the Character Mover, but both are looking for the machine at 192.168.2.148.

Hi - Got the original server running today - will move Rathe soon, so it should all be normal again
